The Al Landin Band specializes in upper-midwestern style Polka and "Old Time" music. We call Boone, Iowa our hometown; but band members range from Stratford to Des Moines. With our German and Scandinavian roots, we are happiest when playing the old favorite songs we heard as young folk in the farm lands of Iowa, Minnesota and Wisconsin. We enjoy playing for Polka and Old Time ballroom dances, ethnic celebrations such as Oktoberfest, and even special family celebrations. We especially enjoy playing for the Polka Club of Iowa and have a special fondness for their enthusiastic members. Our core personnel at present are Al Landin (Accordion), Trevor Carlson (Accordion), Mike Davidson (Guitar & Banjo), and Tex Dean (Drums). In addition, we have a number of musicians from across the state of Iowa that join us on occasion.
